The San Antonio aids foundation

The San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF) founded the Walk for Life in 1991. Each year, hundreds of South Texans gather to celebrate life and to raise funds for SAAF. The Walk for Life (WFL) promotes awareness and generates funds that allow SAAF to continue its pursuit of providing compassionate medical care and social services to people with HIV/AIDS and to help prevent the spread of HIV through education and free HIV testing.

This is a day for family, friends, co-workers and even pets to join in and support SAAF while promoting community awareness. Last year over 500 people gathered together and in 2009 we are anticipating a significant increase in attendance. The Walk for Life is an excellent way for groups and corporations to get involved. We will have entertainment for all ages including a kids area with games, face painting and a moon bounce, a rock wall, dancers and live music.

Form a Team

Join hundreds of your fellow San Antonians that will gather at Woodlawn Park to take part in the walk, which celebrates life and raises much needed funds for SAAF. With your support, funds raised will help SAAF’s client services such as providing free HIV testing and education services for over 20,000 youth in San Antonio. Reaching the youth of our community is vital in helping prevent the spread of HIV, as half of all newly HIV infected people are under 25.

By forming a team to represent your organization or business, you can publicly show your support for this organization that contributes to the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of San Antonians. Join us in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

How to Form a Team?

The San Antonio AIDS Foundation will work with a designated team leader to determine team size and fundraising goals. We will also supply team leaders with posters and pledge forms. Promotional materials will also be available via SAAF’s website at www.txsaaf.org in late June.
