People interested in helping the San Antonio AIDS
Foundation in providing compassionate care and services to people
with HIV/AIDS or preventing the spread of HIV are welcome to meet
with our Volunteer Coordinator Tuesdays or Thursdays from 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may also contact her via e-mail at volunteer_saaf@yahoo.com
There are two major types of volunteers, i.e., intermittent special
events off-site volunteers, and more regular on-site volunteers.
Volunteers who are providing services on-site will be provided
with an orientation. Additionally, the San Antonio AIDS Foundation
is
an approved site for community restitution volunteers who provide
volunteer services as an alternative to incarceration.
Volunteer Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
On-site include:
- Assistance with feeding of residents
- Arts & Crafts for residents
- Birthday Parties for residents
- Buddy Program for residents and outside clients
- Assistance with field trips for residents
- Gardening
- Hairstyling
- Kitchen
- Housekeeping/Maintenance
