For many touched by HIV and AIDS, World AIDS Day is not just a day for awareness and remembrance but also a day for celebration. “There is still a long road in the fight against AIDS, but great strides have been made in the last decade. Now many people infected with HIV & AIDS live much longer than they would have at the start at the epidemic. While some continue to die, many continue to lead productive lives. That in itself is cause for celebration and hope.” said Vanessa Gonzales, SAAF Director of Education. SAAF will be conducting a vigil to remember those we have lost from AIDS.
